Shirley, third child of Ed and Irene Morin, was born Oct 3, 1933 on the farm, west of Damar, Kansas. Shirley, along with brothers Laverne and Robert (Bob), were the “30’s family”. She began school in a one-room country schoolhouse, 1/2 mile west of the farm. It was there they learned English, as Canadian-French was spoken at home. In about 1940 Damar opened a school and the kids transferred to school there.

Shirley Ann Morin was born 3 October 1933 in Damar, Kansas.  On 20 October 1972 she married Hobart (Jack) Riney in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born 24 March 1932 in Story County, Iowa, the son of Emmet C. Riney and Violet S. Wierson. Jack died 10 December, 2018. Jack has two children:

Belinda Ann Riney was born 8 May 1960 in Nevada, Iowa.

Shawn Alan Riney was born 27 June 1965 in Des Moines, Iowa.
